Posted: 21 Mar 2011 Hi all, After the success of the trip a couple of years back, I'm just wondering if anyone is interested in doing a RAUK members field trip? No firms dates as of yet but I was thinking of a Saturday either next month or May. A couple of options for sites: Either visit 1 or 2 sites in Surrey. Or, go somewhere in Dorset, maybe starting off at Boscombe to have a look for the Wall and Green Lizards then continuing on to a heath somewhere. Another idea would be a whole on Purbeck looking at 1 or 2 sites there. Any comments, suggestions or interest in doing something like this? Mark Hampshire Amphibian and Reptile Group. |

Posted: 21 Mar 2011 I would be up for a trip to Surrey again, we know how good Steve is at organising these things How about some smooth snakes this time, I just never get to see them and would really love to. Why not go for a Dorset one too this year, bit far for me but I'm sure others could do it? Gemma Fairchild, Independent Ecological Consultant |

Posted: 21 Mar 2011 Hi Gemma, That is another idea too, a Dorset as well as a Surrey one either is fine for me as I'm slap bang in the middle of those 2 counties. Hopefully a few more will be interested in something. Hampshire Amphibian and Reptile Group. |

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 James, does that mean you'd be up for a trip to Wales or Surrey/Dorset? I'd be up for either but most likely Wales as it's nearer. Cheers |

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 Wales is a little too far........It'd be not worth it, as by the time I got there, I'd have to come home again, LOL.
I could, however, get a flight from Eastleigh to Chester and be picked up? |

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 I would be more up for the trip to Surrey, though, if I'm honest. I really want to herp on Ash Ranges, although Al Hyde told me that the majority of the herping spots have been destroyed now? |

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 You don't want to fly, you'd miss that beautiful drive up through the ranges |
